How to create a new page & manage the basic settings of a page

Creating a Page

After installing GemPages, you can get started on creating a new page, allowing you to turn your idea about your dream page layouts into reality and win more sales.

 

In order to do that, please follow these steps below:

 

Step 1: From the Dashboard, you will notice there are five types of page which you can create with GemPages editor: SubPage & Landing Page, Home Page, Product Page, Collection Page, and Blog Posts.

 

Select one type of page you would like to create on the left sidebar.

 

 

Step 2: Click on the blue button "Create New Page" in the middle of the page, or at the top right corner.

 

 

Step 3: At this step, you can select "Create New Page" and start creating a page from scratch. Or, you can start with a pre-made template by selecting "Start Editing".

 

 

Step 4: Give your new page a name. Decide whether to show or hide the header & footer by pressing on the toggle switch. Then, click on Create.

 

 

That's the very first step to create something new and creative. In the next steps, we will focus on content and layout to make your page become a winning template.

Manage basic settings of a page

Click on the three-dot button on the right side of each page. It will open the pop-up having option settings.

 

 

Step 1: Switch off the toggle button to disable the header & footer of your page.

 

 

Step 2: Select Rename to change the page title.

 

 

Step 3: Change page title and click on Apply.

 

 

Step 4: You can Duplicate a page when you would like to backup your created page or re-use the layout without creating a new one.

 

 

Step 5: Hit on Duplicate.

 

 

It will create a duplicated version of your page.

 

 

Delete a page

Click on Delete to remove a page.

 

 

The system will ask you to type confirm into the field to make sure you are not deleting your page by accident.

 

 

Groups of pages

 

This feature is available for the Subpage and the Article page. You can wrap up pages into specific groups for better management. For example: Group of templates for Father Day’s campaign

Step 1: If you don’t have any group yet, you can create a new one.

 

 

Or, you also can click on the folder icon next to the button "Create New Page".

 

 

You will find your created group(s) from the tab "Groups".

 

 

Step 2: Move your templates to "Groups".

  • Select Move to Group.



  • Select a group you want to add the template to.



  • Hit Move

Step 3: Ungroup a page.

  • When you would like to move a template out of the group, hit the three-dot button on the right and select Move To Group.

  • Select No Group and hit Move.  It does not mean the page is deleted, it will just be removed from the group.
