How to create a customer note or message for orders

This article will show you how to add a custom text box to your product page so that your customers can leave you a message when purchasing a product.

If you’re offering customizable products, this feature will be much helpful for you. It enables your customers to send you their special requests. For example, through the seller note, they can send you the texts/characters they would like to have on their products.

Step 1: From the GemPages dashboard, open your preferred template to edit. Look for the Product Module in the page's Editor. If there isn't one, drag & drop one from the left sidebar to your preferred position.


Step 2: Next, locate and drop a Text field or Text area element inside your Product Module. These two elements have the same function, but the Text Area element allows you more space.


You can add multiple text elements to your Product Module.

Step 3: On the Settings tab, edit the Placeholder field to show the message inside the input field.



Toggle on the “Required” option if the message is compulsory for buyers to fill in.



When everything is in place, hit “Save” then “Publish.”
