This article shows you how to embed a YouTube Short on your GemPages page using the Video Element.
YouTube Shorts are short-form videos (under 60 seconds) and can be a great way to engage your customers. You can easily add a YouTube Short to your landing page, homepage, product page, or any other GemPages layout.
Step 1: Copy the YouTube Short URL
- Go to the YouTube Shorts video.
- Click the Share button and copy the full URL (e.g., https://youtube.com/shorts/abc123xyz).
Step 2: Open GemPages Editor
From your GemPages Dashboard, open the page you want to edit.
Step 3: Add the Video Element
- On the left sidebar, search for the Video element.
- Drag and drop it onto your page where you want the Short to appear.
Step 4: Paste the YouTube Short URL
- Select the Video element on the canvas.
- In the right sidebar under the “Video URL” field, paste your YouTube Short link.
- Make sure the video loads in the preview.
Step 5: Adjust the Settings (Optional)
- You can change the width, height, and alignment of the video.
- Enable autoplay or mute as needed.
Step 6: Click Save and Publish.
Tips for Best Results
- Use a responsive width like 100% to make sure the video looks good on all screen sizes.
- Avoid using multiple autoplay videos on one page, as it may affect load time.
- If you don’t see the video after publishing, clear your browser cache or test in incognito mode.
